Kay Henry

An English major with extensive writing and editing experience throughout her career, Kay has been a key contributor to the translation work of Sangye Khandro and Light of Berotsana for many years.

Kay has been a Vajrayana Buddhist practitioner since 1982 when she received her first empowerments from H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and H.E. Kalu Rinpoche. After being accepted as a student by Ven. Gyatrul Rinpoche, she moved to Tashi Chöling in 1989, served as Corporate Secretary of Yeshe Nyingpo for 11 years, and was personal secretary to Gyatrul Rinpoche and Sangye Khandro for many of those years. Through the request and guidance of Gyatrul Rinpoche, Kay remained in solitary retreat from 2000-2006.

Kay has been working with Sangye Khandro since 1989 when she transcribed her first set of oral dharma teachings given by Gyatrul Rinpoche and translated by Sangye. Since that time, she has assisted Sangye with transcribing oral translations, copy editing, formatting, and various aspects of publishing, as well as helping Lama Chönam in numerous ways since he arrived at Tashi Chöling in 1992. She has worked with Light of Berotsana since its inception as a professional copy editor and helps prepare invaluable manuscripts and transcripts for publication and distribution.
