The Generation Stage in Buddhist Tantra,
formerly Generating the Deity
by Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche
Translation by Sangye Khandro

This text is a detailed presentation of the practices involved in the generation stage of Vajrayana Buddhism, explaining the state of mind to be established and the visualizations to be used. Information on mudras, tormas, malas, etc. used on this level of practice is also given in accordance with tradition. The author is the Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche, a Nyingma lama who has resided in the West for many years, has many Western students, and supervises several dharma centers on the West Coast.
Practitioners of all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism will find that these teachings enhance their understanding of sadhana practice and enable them to accomplish these meditations as they were originally intended.
Though initially published through a publisher in Taiwan under the title Generating the Deity, this text is currently published by Snow Lion Publications under the title The Generation Stage in Buddhist Tantra.
